Any chance of poisoning? Thermometer incident?

I've been feeling a cold coming on in the past week but I can't go to a doctor yet. I just started my first high paying job two weeks ago since I've been out of college and my benefits don't kick in for another week. I don't feel completely awful, but it's been exhausting me. The other day I came home from work very late feeling very feverish so I decided to take my temperature. My wife was asleep so I took my temperature and then went into the lit hallway to read the thermometer. It turned out that I had grabbed a pen from the dresser instead of a thermometer, and now I'm afraid that I could have gotten ink poisoning. My fever still hasn't gone down, and I was wondering if ink poisoning lowers your immune system? I took my temperature the old fashioned way if that helps. Any help is appreciated thanks!
