What is meant by continental food? Tell with some examples.?

"Continental" is a term used by the British to indicate European food (the Britons for a long time refused to admit that they themselves were European; a die-hard minority nowadays still do), usually meaning French and Italian cuisine. This term was used commonly in the US as well until the 1980's. At that time, British food was still pretty atrocious. As British restaurants started becoming much better in the 1980's, this term slowly began to disappear.
